I love the warm, natural sound of the performances: the way the vocals seem to be buried inside of the music, and the drums sound so raw and ambient. This is truly one of my favorite records. The songwriting is particularly inspiring.

Was unsure about pre-ordering it until I heard IDWTDTA. Not all the songs are that different from their originals, but they're tackled from a much more open, stripped down way that puts all the focus on the notes themselves. Maybe don't start with it, but for a Pile fan it seems like the most surprising next move for a project that's so naturally a step in a different direction
